Breastfeeding Friendly Places
What is a Breastfeeding Friendly Place?
A place that has friendly staff who make breastfeeding mothers feel welcome and accepted in their establishment. They openly show their support by displaying the Breastfeeding Friendly sign.
The Ontario Human Rights Commission protects a mother’s right to breastfeed in a public area without disturbing her, asking her to “cover up” or asking her to move to another areas that is more “discreet”.
If a restaurant or business is not listed, you still have the right to breastfeed there – mention this program to the owner and encourage them to sign up.
