Breastfeeding Buddies is an exciting new mother-to-mother telephone support program offered in the Timmins and Hearst areas.  With this program, new and expectant mothers are matched with experienced mothers who are willing to share their breastfeeding knowledge and experience.

Breastfeeding Buddies is:

  • provided by trained volunteers who have breastfed their babies for six months or longer
  • preferably arranged before you have your baby, or available shortly after your baby is born

A Breastfeeding Buddy will:

  • phone you once you are home, when you and your baby are learning to breastfeed
  • continue to phone you or take your calls until your baby is six months old
  • share her breastfeeding "know how"
  • give support and encouragement
  • tell you who to call if you need more help
