Prenatal Classes

pregnant-white-shirt.jpgCongratulations!!!  You’re pregnant. Prenatal classes can help you prepare for the exciting road ahead. While attending classes, you and your partner or support person will gain knowledge and confidence while you explore the up-to-date world of pregnancy, labour/delivery and what to expect after the baby is born.

The prenatal classes offered include a wide variety of topics ranging from pregnancy, to birth and newborn care.

Some topics covered include:

  • Fetal development
  • Nutrition
  • Lifestyle
  • Labour and delivery
  • Breathing techniques, relaxation and comfort measures
  • Infant feeding
  • Care of mom and baby after birth
  • Community resources

Timmins

Our Timmins office offers many opportunities to enroll in our 6-week prenatal class series.  Classes run throughout January to December (excluding July).

Classes are held Wednesday evenings (6:00-8:00pm) at 169 Pine Street South for a total of 6 weeks.  Classes are FREE.

Teen Prenatal Classes

Teen Prenatal Classes are offered in Timmins every Wednesday from 4 to 6pm at the Ontario Early Years Centre (707 Ross Ave East).

If you are between the ages of 14 to 25, come with your friend, partner or mother to learn about pregnancy and delivering a baby. Dinner is provided at the beginning of each class and bus tickets are available for your transportation.
