Is There a Baby in Your Future?
The road to a healthy baby starts long before your baby is conceived. Babies begin to develop even before women know they are pregnant. This means that the time to prepare for your baby’s health is before you even get pregnant.
There are things that both men and women can do to improve the health of their future children. Small things you can do to have a healthy pregnancy include:
- Avoiding stress
- Being physically active
- Eating healthy foods
- Staying away from smoking, caffeine, drugs, alcohol and other silent risks and
- Having a physical examination before trying to become pregnant.
Call a Growing Healthy Family Nurse at the Porcupine Health Unit to find out how you can help plan for a healthy baby.
