The Registered Dietitians at the Porcupine Health Unit conduct a variety of workshops and presentations for health care professionals, educators, workplaces and the general public. The content of these events can focus on a variety of topics including:

  • Heart Healthy Nutrition

If you are interested in having a dietitian speak to your group or want to attend a grocery store tour, contact the Porcupine Health Unit at 267-1181. Grocery Store tours are held every month in Timmins and on demand in branch communities.

Consultation and Resources

Public Health Nutrition Staff are available to answer all your nutrition related questions. We can also give you nutrition resources that will provide you with additional information. If you have a nutrition question, call EatRight Ontario at 1-800-510-510-2 where you can speak to a dietitian for free or call the Porcupine Health Unit.

Audio/video resources and teaching aids are also available on loan to teachers and other health professionals. Teachers also have access to a variety of curriculum based programs that can easily be implemented in their classes.
