When should I make a referral?

Every child develops language at his/her own pace. However, it is possible to detect — from a very young age — “warning signs” of a possible speech and language delay.

Early detection and early intervention are crucial!

As a parent, you are the one who knows your child best. If you have concerns or to discuss your child's speech and language development, you may speak to a speech-language pathologist by calling the Preschool Speech and Language Program at 267-1181 in Timmins or 1-877-442-1212 (Cochrane District) or you can make a referral on-line here.
