Services We Offer
Our program exists so that all preschool children (birth to entry into school) living in the Cochrane District would be given their best chance of reaching their full speech, language, and communication potential.
Our service is a collaborative effort between the Porcupine Health Unit, Cochrane Temiskaming Children’s Treatment Centre and Cochrane Temiskaming Resource Centre.
We offer
- Speech-language screening and assessment
- Parent training sessions
- Consultation with parents and other care providers
- Home programs
- Group and/or individual therapy sessions
- Transition to school support
Services provided through the Preschool Speech and Language Program are free and available to all preschool children living in the Cochrane District.
Who is Eligible for Services?
Children from birth until entry into senior kindergarten are eligible for speech and language services form the Health Unit. No child is too young for a speech and language assessment.
Treatment Locations
Services are delivered at the Porcupine Health Unit and its branch offices.
