Girl Time: Grade 7 & 8 Healthy Sexuality Program

Description:

Girl Time incorporates characteristics of successful intervention as described in the research literature. The program's theoretical base, goals/objectives, teaching principles, session topics/format also align with the Ministry of Health's mandatory guidelines for the Sexual Health programming and with the philosophy and principles described in the Canadian Guidelines for Sexual Health Education (Health Canada, 2003). The Girl Time Program embraces the following definition of sexual health as envisioned by the World Health Organization in 1975: "the intergration of the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social aspects of sexual being, in ways that are positively enriching and that enhance personality, communication and love".
