Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program
The Canada Prental Nutrition Program provides pregnant women in need with nutrition counseling, support and follow-up throughout their pregnancy. This program is available to:
- pregnant women living on a low income
- pregnant teens
- pregnant women living in social isolation with limited access to services
- pregnant women living in difficult life circumstances such as violence
- pregnant women who smoke, drink alcohol or use harmful substances
Participants will see the dietitian once a month throughout their pregnancy and will learn about healthy eating during pregnancy, breastfeeding and early infant feeding. Vouchers for milk, food and vitamin supplements are also provided to those in need.
