The Timmins and Area Drug Strategy Working Group led by the Porcupine Health Unit, and other community partners invite you to make a difference in the Timmins downtown core. Take part in our first annual Community Clean Up. This event is a great opportunity to volunteer and make Timmins a cleaner and safer place to live.
Join us Saturday, June 1, 2019, at the First Baptist Church located at 100 Second Avenue from 8 a.m. until noon. Registration begins at 8 a.m., followed by areas being assigned to participating groups. Then, clean-up equipment will be distributed and the groups will head out to their zones. For those that are looking to pick up needles, there will be education on site and throughout the day to properly handle and dispose of needles. The morning will end with a community BBQ and appreciation celebration for all volunteers.
All registered groups and businesses will receive free clean-up supplies, a reusable water bottle, educational materials, and an invitation to attend the community BBQ at noon. Registration can be completed by downloading and filling out the form, or registering with collaborating partners.
