Porcupine Health Unit

The Porcupine Health Unit Infant Feeding Clinic, located at 4 Ash Street, Kapuskasing is now available. A trained Registered Nurse is present to provide families with one-on-one, in-person breastfeeding support. The clinics are offered weekly, Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings. Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the Health Unit at (705)-335-6101.  Telephone support is also available Monday through Friday, during regular business hours.

While breastfeeding is normal and natural, it does take practice. Trust your body. Take the time to learn. When challenges happen, get help early from a nurse who can provide assistance. Call us today and we will be happy to discuss your breastfeeding goals!

Formula feeding requires knowledge and skills. It is important to properly sterilize equipment, and know how to safely prepare and store formula. It is also important to understand different types of formula available. Did you know that there are ways to feed your baby that will help reduce the risks associated with formula?  

Your infant feeding goals are important to us! A trained Registered Nurse is available to provide one-on-one formula feeding support. Support may be provided over the telephone or in person at a home visit. We want all babies to be as healthy as possible!
