Anyone 12 years of age and older is strongly encouraged to get their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible. Youth 12-17 years of age must receive the Pfizer vaccine. All individuals 12 years of age and older, who have received their first dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least 28 days ago can now book an appointment for their second dose.
For first doses of COVID-19 vaccine, appointments can be booked online, or by calling 705-360-4819 (Timmins) or 1-800-461-1818, or drop-in at any clinic to get vaccinated the same day. Appointments are required for all second COVID-19 vaccine doses. Visit the PHU vaccine webpage to find out when upcoming clinics are scheduled.
The Porcupine Health Unit, in collaboration with the Community Paramedicine Program, is pleased to announce mobile clinics for individuals who are homebound and need their first COVID-19 vaccine. Individuals who are eligible for this service are those who are unable to leave their home due to their mental or physical health and for individuals who are not comfortable being vaccinated in public or attending a public venue.
Individuals who are eligible must call the health unit to arrange an appointment.
The Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) is pleased to announce drop-in Pfizer vaccination clinics geared to youth aged 12 years of age and older. The “Youth Dens” will offer a friendly, safe environment for youth to ask questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, take a walk-through the vaccination clinic to see what they are all about, bring a friend along for support and get vaccinated if they choose to. The “Youth Dens” will also offer a variety of activities that will include music, safe activities, and giveaways.
Youth attending the dens are encouraged to bring their mask and health card. Youth are encouraged, but not required, to discuss COVID-19 vaccination with their parents prior to attending the clinic.
