1. Call to Order

Sue Perras, Board of Health Chair, called the Board of Health meeting to order at 4:06 p.m.

2. Approval of Agenda

The agenda for the March 25, 2021 Board of Health meeting was reviewed. The following motion was read:

Be It Resolved that the Board of Health Agenda, dated March 25, 2021, be approved.

3. Conflict of Interest Declaration

There were no conflicts of interest declared.

4. Approval of Previous Minutes

The minutes from the Board of Health meeting held on February 25, 2021 were reviewed and the following motion was read:

5. Business Arising from Minutes

There were no items under Business Arising.

6. Report of the Medical Officer of Health/Chief Executive Officer

The Report of the Medical Officer of Health for March 25^th, 2021 was presented by Dr. Catton to the Board of Health for information purposes. Sue Perras thanked Dr. Catton for an informative report to the Board of Health. The following motion was read:

Be It Resolved, that the Board of Health for the Porcupine Health Unit accept the MOH/CEO report for March 25, 2021.

7. Board of Health Finance Committee

The members of the Finance Committee were shared with the Board of Health and include: Denis Clement, John Curley, Marc Ringuette, Drago Stefanic, Rock Whissell, Sebastien Lessard, and Sue Perras (ex-officio). 

The Finance Committee will meet and select a Chairperson at their first meeting. The following motion was read:

Be It Resolved, that the Board of Health for the Porcupine Health Unit approve the Finance Committee Members.

8. Correspondence

Board of Health correspondence was provided to Board members for review. Special mention of a letter from a Community Member applauding the efforts and dedication of the Porcupine Health Unit Staff during the Pandemic.

9. New Business

Sue Perras brought forward a schedule conflict for most of the Porcupine Health Unit Board of Health Members. A request to amend meeting dates of May and June. The amended schedule, below, will be circulated to Members. The following motion was read:

Be It Resolved, that the Board of Health for the Porcupine Health Unit approve the 2021 Board of Health schedule of meeting dates, as circulated.

10.1 Personnel Matter

The Board of Health Members moved to In-Camera for a personnel matter. The following motion was read:

Be It Resolved, that the Board of Health for the Porcupine Health Unit approve the proposal reviewed in camera, to address MOH/CEO compensation that recognizes and compensates time and commitment well beyond the usual expectation.
