Sexual Health

Promoting healthy growth and development is essential to healthy schools. A supportive environment for promoting positive sexual health is inclusive and non-judgmental. It is important to help students feel more comfortable and safe when learning about and exploring their own sexual health.


Resources to support implementation can be found in the sections below.

Ophea's Always Changing & Growing Up Resources (Grades 5 & 6) is a school-based resource designed to teach pre-teens in Grades 5 and 6 about the transition between childhood and adolescence, and the beginning stages of puberty.

Ophea's Always Changing and Growing Up (Grades 7 & 8) is designed to promote a healthy, active lifestyle to adolescent students in Grades 7 and 8.

Ophea's Engaging Students in Healthy Living through Drama resource may be used by teachers when addressing the healthy living expectations from the Health and Physical Education Curriculum for Grades 9 to 12 and/or to create a cross-curricular learning experience utilizing The Arts curriculum.
