What is Healthy Smiles Ontario?

Healthy Smiles Ontario is a free program for kids 17 and under. If eligible, your kids will get regular dental services at no cost to you.

Who is eligible?

Children 17 and under may be eligible if:

  • they are residents of Ontario;
  • they are members of a household that meets the income eligibility requirements based on the Adjusted Family Net Income(AFNI).

Add $2,100 for each additional dependent child to determine the income level at which your family would qualify for Healthy Smiles Ontario.

Where to access emergency dental care?

  • If you don't have a dentist, contact us for help.
  • If you have a dentist, contact their office to find out if they participate in Healthy Smiles Ontario.

How do I enrol?

  • Call the Porcupine Health Unit at 705-267-1181 (Timmins area) or 1-800-461-1818;
  • Call the ServiceOntario INFOline at 1-866-532-3616 (TTY toll-free at 1-800-387-5559); or
  • Visit ontario.ca/healthysmiles.

Once enrolment has been confirmed you will receive a Healthy Smiles Ontario dental card. The dental card must be presented to you dental provider at each visit to receive care under the program.
